OS X Mavericks (version 10.9) was announced on June 10, 2013 at WWDC 2013, and is scheduled for a release in fall of 2013. The OS is now in beta and available for developers. Now I want to recommend some OS X 10.9 compatible Blu-ray software for you.
Until recently Macs using Mac OS X could only author Blu-ray discs. Options for authoring Blu-ray have come from Apple in the form of Compressor in Final Cut Studio, and the third party Roxio Toast Titanium as well as the Adobe Encore. With the appearing of Mac Blu-ray player software in the market, it is not a very difficult thing to playback Blu-ray movie on Mac OS now, what you need is just external Blu-ray drive and third party Blu-ray player software (as there is no native Blu-ray codec with OS X).
To play Blu-ray on Mac Mavericks 10.9, you need an external Blu-ray drive (6X read speed or above; USB 2.0/Firewire400 or above), as Mac only built-in with the DVD drive now. For Blu-ray drive selection, please refers to: Best Mac Compatible Blu-ray drive reviews. Also you need Blu-ray player software for Mac Mavericks, here you can choose the UFUWare Blu-ray Player for Mac, which is an all-in-one tool allows you to enjoy Blu-ray disc movie, playback Blu-ray ISO/folder directly without third party codec. What’s more, it is also a free media player which allows you to enjoy HD media, video, audio, etc. on you Mac Yosemite/Mavericks/Mountain Lion easily.
